Art of manufacturing

Designing a herbarium is meticulous work, I want to dust off the image of herbariums with a modern and graphic touch.

Very personal and unique, there are several techniques for drying flowers before transforming them into a herbarium.

I chose a homemade press, a traditional method that involves carefully drying the flowers between sheets and cardboard.

Picking the flowers one by one is a moment of wonder, but also the most decisive step, because it defines the final result of the flower.
Pressing is a delicate moment since the sheets have to be changed by removing the still damp flowers.
Finally, it is only when I open the press that I rediscover the flowers and have fun arranging them.

To add a unique touch, I took inspiration from two Japanese arts:
- tatami zomé, the idea is to hammer flowers to obtain a totally natural impression. An instant process highlighting the very natural and pure side of flowers.

- ikebana: a floral arrangement that gives new life to flowers through a harmony of colors, proportions and arrangements in space.

To guarantee the quality of the flowers, I produce my flowers in my garden, in the beautiful countryside of Normandy. I pick the most beautiful flowers while leaving flowers for our friends the pollinators.

My blue flower side led me to suggest to the bride to keep her wedding bouquet all over France.

Drawing on my expertise for my herbariums, I propose to immortalize the wedding bouquet between two glasses. And to make this creation unique, the wooden frame is made in my workshop. I try to promote craftsmanship and made in Normandy in my creations.
